Renovations & additions · North Georgia

Major remodels and additions, built like new homes.

Large renovations need the same planning, permits and trade coordination as a new build. We take on the projects that call for a licensed general contractor and price them open book.

When you need a general contractor

When a project changes the structure, the systems or the footprint of your home, it needs permits, inspections and someone who can coordinate every trade. RLG Atlanta is a licensed Georgia general contractor (RBCO008098).

We focus on projects where the structure, systems or footprint change: additions, whole-floor remodels, basement finishes, and exterior replacements on high-end homes.

Projects we take on

Additions

New wings, primary suites, garages and sunrooms, with the foundation, framing and roof tied into the existing house.

Whole-floor remodels

Kitchens, baths and living areas redone together, including moved walls, new plumbing runs and updated electrical.

Basement finishes

Finished walkout basements with egress, bathrooms and HVAC, permitted and inspected.

Roof and exterior

Roof replacements, siding and exterior updates. For roofs, our RLG Roofing division sends a line-item estimate measured by satellite.

How pricing works

Like our new homes, renovations are built cost-plus. You see what materials and trades actually cost, plus our fee. When a wall opens up and the plan has to change, you see the real cost of the change.

Permit rules for remodels vary by city and county. Our area pages list the local building office for each place we work.

How we build

  1. Start with the land

We walk the lot with you before plans are final: access, slope, septic or sewer, buffers and where the house should sit.

  2. Open-book pricing

Custom homes are built cost-plus. You see the supplier and subcontractor invoices behind every draw, not a single lump number.

  3. Permits and plan review

We handle submittals with the city or county building office and coordinate the surveys, soil reports and engineering they require.

  4. On site, every day

Jerry runs the job in person. You get regular progress updates with photos, like the public build journal for Lakewood Lodge.
